Hello Wedding Blog!

And so it begins... the planning process. Thankfully, we've enlisted the expertise of our friend Aileen and her company, Prestigious Planning, to help ease the wedding planning pain. With a list of some of our location ideas, Aileen is dealing with the hard part -- narrowing them down. Jeng and I are going to visit some venues over my spring break in March to help make our decision.

Our plans (to date) are centering around San Francisco or wine country. We've tentatively selected Friday, July 9, 2010 (since Fridays are cheaper) but we'll see if the churches let that happen. We wanted a round number date (e.g. 10/10/10) but because we wanted to get married after I graduate and before I start a new job, we're left with the middle of summer. Oh well. I hope everyone makes a vacation out of it!

For curiosity sake and because my sister was in town this weekend, I tried on some wedding dresses. So far I've made the conclusion that 1) the margins on wedding dresses must be insane and I might be in the wrong field; and 2) my dress style is dependent upon where I end up getting married. Because of the latter, I do not plan to try on dresses again until my location has been settled. It will also make the wedding dress consultants feel less like they're wasting their time helping me.

Since I was on this wedding trend this weekend, Jeng and I finally began working on our web site. He's designing the logo (with a lot of input from me, of course) and I'm working on content development. It still has some ways to go but at least progress is being made!
